Description: "Natural Mexican Fire Opal, Mozambique Garnet And Citrine Ring"
Citrine is a yellow variety of quartz. Most citrines are mined in Brazil today, but it has been cherished as a valuable gemstone since the ancient Greeks first made use of it in jewelry. Some varieties today have a deeper amber-brown tone, and may be marketed as "madeira citrine", alongside the classical golden honey tone. Citrine is a popular November birthstone because it is very similar in appearance to yellow topaz.
Garnets come in every color of the rainbow, but reds are the most common. Deep red garnets are what we traditionally think of when we think of garnet, but in today's market many other colors can also be found. Purplish-red rhodolite garnets are particularly popular. But there's also tsavorite garnets with their electric green color that are becoming increasingly popular (and valuable, especially in larger sizes). Garnet is the birthstone for January.
Opal is a one of the mesmerizing and mysterious gemstones on the planet. Most opals have a white body color with a multicolor "play of color" effect that dazzles across the surface of the cabochon stone in the light. Fine opals can be hypnotizing! Most gem-grade opal historically has been found in Australia, but in recent years very fine and bright material has been coming out of Ethiopian mines as well. Black opals with dark body tones are extremely prized, and getting rarer with every passing year. Orange fire opals from Mexico are also very popular and often faceted, but only rarely exhibit play of color. Opal is the birthstone for October.
All Bonyak Jewelry pieces are of the highest quality, satisfaction guaranteed.
